About the Project:
SCC: Wilters is a project I started at the end of my freshman year in high school (so 2010) and have been working on since then. It has gone through dozens of rounds of revisions to get to where it is now.
If you've found your way onto this page, most likely I posted it somewhere (I can't remember) and have decided to give my project a a read. Thank you for doing so. On December 04, 2015 I entered the Pitchapalooza contest held at Rutgers University's Bookstore by the Book Doctors Arielle Eckstut and David Henry Sterry. The point of the competition is to pitch your book idea in exactly one minute (no more, no less, and they will cut you off). If you sell in that one minute, they will pair you with an agent/publisher to get your book published. I happened to win (still internally screaming four months later). So this project is no longer a side thing I do after school. It's turned into something serious, something I hadn't known I've been dreaming about until that moment I stood at the mic for my one minute pitch. So, that's what this is all about. This is me asking family, friends, and strangers to help me polish this work to the best of my ability before I send it off to Arielle and David. |

About the Writer:
Johene Pauline Sindac is a 21-year-old college student attending Rutgers University. She is currently majoring in English, minoring in Digital Communication, Information, and Media Studies, and working toward a certificate in Creative Writing. In her spare time she's working at the university's bookstore or hiding around campus trying to get in a few hundred words for SCC. She's currently obsessed with Hamilton, Gilmore Girls, and Pokémon. Don't be afraid if she starts making cat or prehistoric bird noises, she has plans to reincarnate into either or in her next life.
